LDM · LOADING METRES

How much loading space do you need?

Calculate loading metres from the footprint, quantity and vehicle width. Explore the effect of stacking.

1 LDM equals one metre of floor length across the vehicle width. Check actual layout separately.

Calculating…

How are loading metres calculated?

Total floor area in m² / vehicle internal width in metres. Ten unstacked 120 × 80 cm Euro pallets in a 2.40 m wide vehicle equal 4 LDM. See the DSV load-metre definition.

How does stacking affect floor positions?

Quantity / stacking layers is rounded up to a whole floor position. Five identical pallets stacked two high still need three floor positions. Only use stacking that is safe for the actual goods.

Does the load physically fit?

LDM is a floor-area equivalent. The visual strip is proportional area, not a physical packing plan. Check vehicle length, door clearance, height, weight, gaps and actual positioning separately.
